Birthday Surprise

Sunday afternoon we put Crosby down for a nap in a pack and play at Nana & Pops' house. About ten minutes later, we heard music coming from the bedroom only to find Crosby up playing with the toys. The pack and play was located at the end of the bed so we figured he just climbed up onto the bed and then down to the floor. So, we moved the pack and play out into the middle of the room so that he couldn't use the bed to escape again. We put him back down for a nap. Not long after that, we heard a little crying and we thought"oh good, he must've given up and is now going to sleep." Wrong again, we soon heard him knocking on the door and calling for "Moooommmmmy." At this point we realized there was a serious problem. He has learned how to crawl out of the crib. Thankfully Nana had a toddler bed in storage just for us. I wasn't planning on making this big move just yet but as I have learned so many times, things don't always go according to plan.

Here are some pictures of Crosby in his new big boy bed. So far, it's been an easy transition. :-)

Crosby had lots of fun at Avery's Birthday party on Sunday. It was a birthday filled weekend. As a matter of fact, he's now so confused by all the birthday festitivites that he's telling us "Happy Birthay."

"Hello, Reagan"

"Whoa Croz....watch out for baby Abbi!"

Thanks to Uncle Stacy, Aunt Tel, Cal and Madalyn for the awesome little drum set. Crosby just loves it! They always promised that we've receive lots of payback one day. So far, I can handle Crosby playing with it as the amount of noise he makes is tolerable. It's when Kelby treats us to a little percussion that the headache begins. :-)

Nana made Crosby some muffins for his birthday. Crosby requests muffins from Nana every time we spend the night at Nana & Pops. He reminds her of this just about everytime he talks to her on the phone, too.

Rice & Beans after the party

Croz wasn't so sure about the sombrero....
the fried ice cream was a completely different story though.

At one point, Crosby just walked off from the party and went to play with the sticks!

The birthday song...

Crosby put on quite the show as we sang "Happy Birthday." Last year, he tried to hide when everyone was singing and looking at him. Not so this year. He kept looking around as if to make sure that everyone was particiapting. He clapped and howled so much that we sang "Happy Birthday" twice. We're working on converting the video so that I can upload it here as well.

Yep, he looks a little scary on the cake....like a combo between Mickey Mouse and Count Dracula!
