A Build-A-Bear Birthday Party for Carter

Crosby had so much fun at Carter's 3rd birthday party. Build-A-Bear was a new experience for us and we were both quite excited about the whole process. Crosby chose a light brown bear to which we named "Scooby." I must say, I'm not a big stuffed animal kind of gal but creating your very own animal is a pretty neat idea. Scooby instantly gained access to Crosby's chosen circle of stuffed friends...Mickey and Doggie. He, along with the all three friends, snuggle together each and every night.

Tiny Turtles

Construction: Week 11

Framers finished this week, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were roughed in. This upcoming week will consist of lots of inspections and any necessary changes made. Not the most exciting week, but necessary. We hope to clear all inspections and begin hanging sheetrock next week.

We had our first visitors last week. Leigh and Baby Molly came by one evening....sorry left the camera to chase Crosby! David, Wendy and Alex came by and Crosby thoroughly enjoyed playing in the sand/dirt with his buddy. Then Mimi and Papa came up for a fun weekend.

As you can tell in the pictures, Crosby is making the most of this experience. He takes tools with him each night and rarely ever wants to leave. He reguarly looks for and collects nails of all shapes and sizes. Did I ever think that I'd let a 2 year old play with nails? No way. However, I've decided the more he looks for nails, the more aware he is that they're everywhere. At least now he might see it and avoid it before plunging off the wood pile straight towards the nail. We reguarly have our little safety talks. :-) Wish us luck!!

Hope you all are doing well!

Construction: Week 10

view from the road

This week marked a turning point in the construction process. It's no longer just a lot....it's a house!!! The framing was completed this week, most doors and windows have been installed, plumbing has been roughed in and the roofing process has begun. Things have been moving quickly the past few weeks. :-) This coming week we expect to have the electrical and HVAC systems roughed in and roofing completed.
